San Antonio Alternative Housing Corporation (SAAHC), founded in 1993, offers housing and support to low/moderate-income Texas communities, especially in Bexar and Travis Counties, funded by diverse sources, with 51 scattered rentals, 1,095 multi-family units, and support at four tax credit apartment complexes.

SAAHC currently does not offer any form of rental or housing assistance. However, we proudly work with agencies like SAMMs Ministries, AARC, CHCS, Haven for Hope, Salvation Army, Veterans Administration, Beat Aids, The Battered Women’s Shelter and others.
At the current time, none of our properties are income-based. Some of our properties have income restrictions and our rent prices are based on the Area Median Income (AMI).
All of our properties currently accept section 8 vouchers, but a voucher is not required to rent one of our properties, as long as the income requirements are met.
Our application process includes verification of 3 months proof of income and gross income of 2.5 times the rental amount or a section 8 voucher. We also run a criminal background and credit check during the application process.
No. Although we work with the city of San Antonio and Opportunity Home, we are a self-funded, independent non-profit organization.
