SAAHC completed the purchase of Memorial Funeral Home located at 1612 El Paso St. in 2023. Clean up and rehabilitation began shortly after and is still in progress. Plans for the property include a brand new 30-unit multifamily complex that will include studio, one, two and three bedroom units serving families who make just 30% of the area median income. The original structure will serve as a Leasing office & community center for residents.
The property also included a historical home constructed in 1912. That home is in the process of relocation to the JT Brackenridge subdivision on Chihuahua St. The home is being restored to its former glory and the home will be available for lease upon completion of rehabilitation.
A ground breaking ceremony will be held (date to be determined) as a celebration of the new beginnings for this property and the West side community. We look forward to sharing this celebration with our neighbors and community!
